SAP settings
These system settings define behaviors such as what to log, what statuses to assign, and whether to support multiple SAP systems. The SAP settings also define the user credentials that IEE services use to communicate with MDUS.
Configure the following parameters:
Adjustment factor value mismatch rule
Define the action for IEE to take when the AdjustmentFactorValue in the request from SAP does not match the KE or meter multiplier value in MDUS. The valid values are as follows:
-
Validate. Fail request if AdjustmentFactorValue in the request does not match the KE and Meter multipliers in the MDUS meter program.
-
Ignore. Log an information message and keep the MDUS meter program value.
-
Apply. Override the MDUS meter program value with the AdjustmentFactorValue from SAP.
Configuration processing chunk size
Defines the number of configuration requests that MDUS processes in a batch when processing a bulk request.
Enable multiple SAP system support
Determines whether MDUS can integrate with more than one SAP external system. If your implementation involves more than one SAP system, or if you are adding a new SAP system to an existing implementation, select True.
Ignore configuration history
Determines whether IEE ignores configuration history information that is sent through master data services including the bulk replication service. Set to True to ignore the configuration history and process only the most recent configuration information. Set to False to process the configuration history. When set to True, bulk replication will only ignore configuration history for register create, register change, meter location, and register allocation parts of the bulk replication. It will still execute the meter change part of the work, which can produce some program-based configuration (PBC) requests with older dates to be executed.
Note: For bulk replication, the "ignore configuration history" setting has no effect if the meter does not exist. In this case, the entire history will be applied regardless of the setting state.
In most cases, we recommend that you set this value to True. IEE can process master data requests faster when the configuration history is ignored.
When the configuration history that is sent by SAP does not exactly match the history that is stored in IEE, errors can occur. In most cases, these errors can be ignored safely.
This system setting affects the following services:
-
BulkReplication
-
MeterChange
-
MeterCreate
-
MeterLocation
-
ProfileAllocation
-
RegisterAllocation
-
RegisterChange
-
RegisterCreate
Ignore dials and decimals validation
Determines whether IEE validates the number of dials and decimals sent by SAP in the Create Register request against the number of dials and decimals in the IEE meter program. Set to False to perform this validation. Set to True to ignore this validation.
Typically, this setting is set to False and the validation is performed. The Create Register request fails the validation and triggers an exception when both of the following conditions are true:
-
The meter program and the associated service point program have different channel units of measure (UOM), such as Wh and kWh.
-
The register in SAP is configured with the same UOM as the service point channel.
To prevent these conditions from preventing successful Create Register requests, set Ignore Dials and Decimals Validation to True.
Ignore interval length validation
If set to True, IEE will not validate whether the UtilitiesMeasurementRecurrenceCode specified in the Register Create or Register Change requests is the same as the meter channel’s interval length. This way, the request will be successful even if they do not match. If set to False (default), the request will fail if they do not match.
Integration Suite SOAP Action
Defines the SOAP Action URLs used for ISAIM responses to SAP.
-
If set to True, WSDLs for ISAIM responses to SAP use the SOAP Action URLs for Integration Suite. There is a different URL per service.
-
If set to False (default), WSDLs for ISAIM responses to SAP use the SOAP Action URL for PI/PO middleware. The same URL is used for all services.
ISAIM Installed Version
Displays the IEE version that is installed on the computer. This setting is read-only.
Log IEE configuration requests and responses
Determines whether MDUS logs XML files sent and received from the program-based configuration API calls. When troubleshooting, set to True to enable logging. When not troubleshooting, set to False to disable logging.
Log SAP requests and responses
Determines whether MDUS logs reading requests received from SAP and reading responses sent to SAP. When troubleshooting, set to True to enable logging. When not troubleshooting, set to False to disable logging.
Meter registered notification timeout days
Defines the number of days that MDUS will wait for reading data to arrive from a meter. If no data arrives before this deadline, MDUS sends SAP a negative confirmation of meter registration.
Meter status after meter create
Defines the value of the MeterStatus attribute for meters that MDUS has created in the database but that do not have register channels yet. These meters are assigned to the default meter program.
Meter status after meter disconnect
Determines what the meter status should be after the meter is disconnected. The default is Inactive.
Meter status after meter removal
Determines what the meter status should be after the meter is uninstalled. The default is Inactive.
Meter status after register create
Defines the value of the MeterStatus attribute for meters that MDUS has created in the database and that have register channels. These meters are assigned to the actual meter program.
Meter status after service point create
Defines the value of the MeterStatus attribute for meters that MDUS has created in the database and assigned to service points. These meters are assigned to the actual meter and service point programs.
Parameter to be mapped to SP ID
Determines whether to map the IEE service point ID to the installation point ID parameter or the logical device number parameter. Logical device number is the preferred mapping.
The SAP logical device number is a unique ID that represents a service point instance in the configuration data. The SAP installation point represents a logical point at which service is provided to the customer. The installation point ID is not unique to a single meter because SAP allows multiple meters to be assigned to a single installation point.
In IEE MDUS, only one meter can be assigned to a service point. The logical device number mapping preserves a one-to-one relationship between the meter and the service point.
All service point IDs are mapped the same way. You cannot map some service point IDs to installation point IDs and other service point IDs to logical device number IDs.
Register data rounding rule
Defines how MDUS handles register reads with decimal places. Select Round to use the dial and decimal settings defined in the meter program. Select Truncate to apply the number of decimals defined in the meter program. Select None to send the read unchanged.
Retry frequency (Seconds)
Defines the interval at which MDUS tries to resend a message or process a message that is waiting for a predecessor message.
Retry timeout (Seconds)
Defines the maximum length of time MDUS will retry a request or reprocess a banked message before sending a negative confirmation message to SAP.
Save address information
Determines whether MDUS stores address information in the database. Set to False to ignore address information even if it is included in the Meter Location request file. Set to True to store address information in the Premise entity on the service point in MDUS.
Note: SAP does not provide apartment numbers to MDUS.
Suffix SBS ID on meter
Determines whether the sender business system ID short code is appended to the meter ID when the Enable Multiple SAP System Support system setting is set to True. The default is True.
MDUS does not require that you define a short code for each sender business system ID. If the short code is not defined, then IEE appends the full SenderBusinessSystemID to the meter ID when multiple SAP system support is enabled.
Itron recommends that you do not change this system setting value after configuration data has been imported into MDUS. Changing this value after data is imported results in inconsistent meter IDs in the meter population.
Suffix SBS ID on SP
Determines whether the sender business system ID short code is appended to the service point ID when the Enable Multiple SAP System Support system setting is set to True. The default is True.
MDUS does not require that you define an ID for each sender business system. If the short code is not defined, then IEE appends the full SenderBusinessSystemID to the service point ID when multiple SAP system support is enabled.
Itron recommends that you do not change this system setting value after configuration data has been imported into IEE. Changing this value after data is imported results in inconsistent service point IDs in the service point population.
Temporary program ID
Defines the ID of the default meter program that IEE assigns to meters when SAP sends a create meter request. Use alphanumeric and underscore characters only. For example, if you enter DefaultSapMeterProgram in this system setting, you must name the meter program DefaultSapMeterProgram.
Use new data routing program during service point reprogram
If set to True, when changing service point programs, the Data Routing Program from the new program will always be applied to the new service point version. If set to False (default), then the Data Routing Program is not changed.
Use new monitoring data program during meter reprogram
If set to True, when changing meter programs, the Monitoring Data Program from the new program will always be applied to the new meter version. If set to False (default), the Monitoring Data Program is not changed.
Use time zone sent by SAP
Meter Location service uses the system setting to determine whether to update the service point’s time zone. If the system setting is set to True and if the service point’s time zone does not match with the time zone code specified in the SAP request, ISAIM updates the service point’s time zone to match with the one specified in the SAP request, and send a Time Zone Change event back to SAP. The default for this system setting is True.
User ID
Defines the credentials the IEE services use to communicate with MDUS components such as AMI billing export and the device communications service.
