(Optional) Define default web service credentials for calls to external systems

IEE allows web service calls from IEE to the collection system to include a username and password that authenticate IEE as the caller.

Typically, a IEE administrator defines a default set of credentials. When you configure a web service client, you can define a different username and password in the Web Service Client Table. The unique credentials are used only for that client and do not affect the IEE default credentials.

Use the following procedure to define default credentials for web service calls:

  1. Go to System Administration > System Admin > External System Attribute Name Values.

  2. From the Select External System dropdown menu, select the external system you are defining the credentials for.

  3. Look in the Attribute Name column for WebServiceUserName. (You may have to scroll down.)

  4. Click the WebServiceUserName row to select it.

  5. In the Selected Value box, enter a username.

  6. Look in the Attribute Name column for WebServicePassword.

  7. Click the WebServicePassword row to select it.

Note: The default credentials can be overwritten in the instance by configuring a different username and password in the Web Service Client Table for an individual web service client.

  8. Enter a password.

  9. Click Save.
