Installation prerequisites

Before setting up the Identity Sync service, ensure that the following prerequisites have been met:

  • Supported OS. Windows Server 2016 or Windows Server 2019

  • Browser. The latest version of Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox.

  • Itron Platform Identity Service. This installer is available in the Web UI package.

    This will generate Tenant ID and Service Principle Secrets, which is required to install Web UI and IMS.

  • Microsoft® Azure Service Fabric. Enables the building and managing of scalable and reliable applications composed of services that run on a shared pool of servers known as a cluster. The cluster can contain any number of servers or nodes.

  • RabbitMQ Message Bus and Erlang. RabbitMQ is an open-source message broker software used by both IEE and IMS to accomplish inter-application messaging and near real-time data transfer.

  • Supported Databases. SQL Server 2016 or SQL Server 2019. (IEE supports SQL Server and Oracle.) Create separate instances for IEE/Web UI, IMS, and Identity.

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8. Required by Applications Server, IEE rich client, and Web Services. (Also required by Microsoft WSE 2.0 SP3 if Web Services are used.)

  • Microsoft .NET 5.0. Required by Edge Explorer 2.2.

  • Microsoft XML Parser 3.0 SP4 or greater. Required by Applications Server, IEE rich client, and Web Services.

  • Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8

  • Windows Internet Information Services (IIS)

  • ASP.NET Status. Required by Web Services.

  • Adobe Reader. Required to view IEE product documentation.
