Inbound communication implementation

Service Mode supports both outbound communications (answer type tasks where xiComm calls the device) and inbound communications (originate type task where the device calls xiComm). The communication settings are defined by the Call Retrieval Mode on the MV90 Recording Device Entity.

When an inbound call is scheduled, the task is pushed to Service Mode and is not picked up by xiComm until the device calls in. The Time Due represents the time when the device is expected to call in, which is based on the next call time set by the previous call. As long as the device calls in within the allotted time, it picks up the task and executes the scheduled request. If the device calls in earlier than one hour before, it is assumed to be critical and does not pick up the task because of an alarm setting.

Each time the device calls in, the TIM module reading the meter writes the next call time to the device. The Inbound Call Time on the MV90 Recording Device is updated to reflect the last next call time to the device.

Location of inbound call time ont the MV 90 recording device dialog.
