Importing reading data

Prerequisite:

Configure the Readings XML Import Task Template before you start this task. This import will fail if you did not configure the Readings XML Import task. For more information, see Configuring the task template.

Importing Reading Data

1. Format the reading data file per the ReadingConfiguration.xsd schema, found on the Itron Access customer portal.

   Note: Typically, the customer provides Itron with an initial set of readings that has been extracted from an external system. The Itron technical contact then creates the style sheet used to map the customer's extract file to the proper XML format used for the IEE import. You can include this style sheet as part of a task template to reformat incoming data automatically in future imports.

2. Save the XML import file using the file mask specified in the associated import task template.

3. Copy the XML import file into the import directory specified in the associated import task template to trigger the import task.
