Configuring the contiguous gap exception
The contiguous gap exception determines what size gap in the reading data triggers an automated service order request from IEE.
If IEE detects a second gap for the same device after the service order has been requested, IEE does not create a new or duplicate service order. However, it does increment the Request Count by one for each additional gap that occurs on that device.
If a gap fill request is already in progress when IEE requests the service order, IEE cannot cancel the gap fill request.
An administrator can configure IEE to stop sending gap fill requests to service points that have triggered a service order request. For more information, see Temporarily stop service order generation.
Use the following procedure to configure the contiguous gap exception:
-
Go to System Administration > System Admin > System Settings.
-
From the Section dropdown menu, select AMI Communications. Configure the following setting:
-
Maximum Allowed Contiguous Gap Hours For Meter. Defines the number of hours of contiguous gaps that the meter is allowed to have before it triggers a service order request. The Service Order module must be installed for this functionality to trigger service orders. Enter the number of hours that can pass without data before triggering an exception notice and a service order request. If this setting is already configured, verify that it is correct.
