Perform Pre-Installation Setup

(Optional) Add SQL Users Group.

Install and configure one of the following supported versions at least six weeks prior to the installation:

Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Enterprise

Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Enterprise

Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Enterprise Edition

Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Standard Edition

Verify the security certificates are installed on the application servers.

(Optional) Configure target program folder permissions.

(Rare) Assign Permissions to Windows Services Account.

Install Third-Party Software (as needed)

Install Microsoft .NET Framework:

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8, required by Applications Server, IEE rich client, and Web Services.

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8, also required by Microsoft WSE 2.0 SP3 if Web Services are used.

(Optional) Microsoft .NET Framework 5.0, if you are installing Web UI for licensed add-on modules.

Microsoft XML Parser 3.0 SP4 or greater

Required by Applications Server, IEE rich client, and Web Services.

Install Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8.

Enable Windows Internet Information Services (IIS).

Configure ASP .NET Status:

Required by Web Services.

Install Adobe® Reader:

Required to view IEE product documentation.
Required to view web reports.

Install SAP Crystal Reports®
-
If installing IEE by using the IEE InstallShield Wizard, there is no need to manually install SAP Crystal Reports® on the application server.
Note: For MSSQL Server installations authentication must be performed to connect the application to the server. IEE supports both SQL Server Authentication and Windows Authentication. If you use Windows Authentication, follow additional steps to ensure a successful installation.
