Viewing the validation log

To create historical validation reports and view validation log data, define the service points, validation criteria, and dates to include in the report or log:

1. Go to Meter Data Management > Tools > Validation > Validation Log.

2. In the Validation Log Search Parameters pane, click Select SP Channels and select the service point channels to include. For more information, see Using the search utility.

3. (Optional) Select a User to limit log results to validation results that are assigned to the selected users. Use Ctrl-Click or Shift-Click to select multiple users.

4. (Optional) Define validation parameters. All validation parameters are optional.

   Note: The validation parameter dropdown menus cannot be reset from within the dropdown menus. The only way to remove a selection from the dropdown menus is to clear all parameters, including the service point channels. For example, if you select Billing in the Validation Slot dropdown menu, you cannot set the selection back to blank without clearing all selections. To clear all selections and start over, click Reset.

   • Validation Slot. Limits the log to validation results from validation sets that were assigned to the selected validation slot during the time period defined by the Process Date and Data Validation Date parameters. IEE allows you to change validation slot assignments over time, so this filter can result in multiple validation sets in the log results even though only one slot is selected.

   • Validation Result. Limits the log to validation results with the selected statuses. Use Ctrl-Click or Shift-Click to select multiple statuses. This filter applies to the validation result for the entire validation set.

   • Validation Rule. Limits the log to validation results from the selected validation rule.

   • Validation Rule Result. Limits the log to validation results that have the selected statuses. Use Ctrl-Click or Shift-Click to select multiple statuses.

5. To define the Process Date and Data Validation Date, choose from the following options:

   • Select the Time Period from the dropdown menu and select the appropriate date and time criteria.

   • (Optional) Click Reading Groups to view and select a particular meter reading group. For more information about using reading groups, see Reading group selection.

   • (Optional) Click Schedule Dates to select a Time of Use (TOU) schedule. For more information, see Schedule dates.

6. Search Validation Logs. Validation Log parameters that match your specifications display on the Results tab.

7. Launch Report. The report displays on a new tab in the main IEE user interface. This report shows the historic results of the validation that ran; it does not re-run validation.

   Note: The list of occurrences in the Validation Log report displays in the time zone of the user that runs the report. Because time zones are set at the workgroup level, this means that a user in a different time zone would see different occurrence times in the report.
