In IEE, a settlement is a method for an operator to compensate its customers for participating in curtailment events. The IEE Settlements module imports, validates, and stores interval readings data collected from metering devices. The IEE Settlements package aggregates readings to Settlement Points and Zones.

Users can select to view Wholesale or Retail settlement data or to Compare Wholesale and Retail settlement data. By default, WHOLESALE is selected. Use the buttons to switch between WHOLESALE, RETAIL, and COMPARE. For more information, see Comparing differences between settlement data.

Tip: The date range, settlement market, and settlement zone selections are maintained when switching between Wholesale, Retail, and Compare.

The settlement process involves the following configuration entities:

  • Settlement Markets. Each market can be divided into zones within the market's territory. Utility providers and market participants are responsible for the settlement points within their zones. A utility can have more than one market. For more information, see Settlement markets.

  • Settlement Zones. A geographical area containing generators, interties, and/or substations. Multiple settlement points can be grouped into a zone, and multiple settlement zones can be grouped into a market. For more information, see Settlement zones.

  • Settlement Points. Metering points that record usage throughout a market operator's geographical territory. Data storage for Official Load Value along with contributing data provide the settlement data needed by the market. In IEE, a settlement point is represented by a service point configuration. Each service point has its own unique settlement point ID. For more information, see Settlement points.
