Validation rules and named constants

Validation rules allow the use of named constants. If the value of the named constant changes during the validation period, the type of validation rule determines how the new value is applied.

• Parameter-based validation rules apply the new value to the entire validation period.

• User-defined validation rules apply the new value to intervals that occurred after the change to the named constant.
