Service Order XML API

This guide describes the API for transferring data between IEE and the external system. The IEE Service Order Management application enables utilities to generate service orders automatically when an exception condition has been identified in IEE or when readings data is missing for a specified time period. In these instances, IEE automatically exports the exception notification to an external system, such as a work order or service order management system. IEE also supports the tracking of service orders that are created by an external service order system.

This data between IEE and the external system includes the following:

• Service order creation requests from IEE.

• Confirmation and error messages from the external system.

• Service order status messages sent to IEE from the external system IEE uses the RequestID element to match Service Order records to the created service order if the service order originated in IEE. These interfaces work in both directions: IEE to service order systems and service order systems to IEE.

• Itron defines and implements the service order system–to–IEE services.

• Itron defines the IEE–to–service order system services.

• The utility implements the IEE–to–service order system services.
