UOM maintenance

Use UOM Maintenance to update existing UOMs. The UOM Maintenance function does not retain the original UOM; this process replaces the original UOM with the reconfigured properties you define.

Caution: There is no undo function in UOM Maintenance. If you accidentally delete or change a UOM, you must recreate the original UOM. The IEE implementation team typically creates the UOM set during initial system configuration.

Reconfiguring an Existing Unit of Measurement

  1. Go to System Administration > System Admin > UOM Maintenance > UOM Maintenance.

  2. Select the Query tab.

  3. Use the dropdown menus to select the known properties of the UOM for which you are searching.

Note: If you leave a properties field blank, then the search treats this as a wildcard for that property.

  4. When you have specified the properties as completely as possible, click Next. (To clear all search properties and start over, click Clear All.)

The Results tab appears, and the grid at the top of the window shows all UOMs that contain the requested properties.

  5. Click the UOM you want to reconfigure.

The properties associated with the UOM appear in the dropdown menus in the lower section of the Results window.

  6. Use the dropdown menus to change the UOM's properties.

Note: Although you can edit the Shortcut Code and Description fields above the dropdown boxes, these edits are not retained when you click Generate.

  7. Click Generate.

    A confirmation dialog appears.

  8. Click Yes. The Shortcut Code field and Description field automatically update to reflect the new configuration. The UOM entry in the grid changes to the color red, which indicates that it was edited.

  9. Click Save to save the reconfigured UOM.

Important! IEE does not keep the original UOM. The reconfigured UOM replaces the original.

  10. (Optional) Click Remove to delete an existing UOM.
