Mapping read codes
IEE includes several default Read codes mapped to status messages. For example, the Read code BD indicates that a read could not be collected because of a dog threat (Bad Dog). Each external system can have its own set of read codes. Each of these read codes needs a corresponding Type, Description, and so on
For configuration purposes, it may be easier to create a CSV file containing read code data for each external system. The CSV file must contain one row per read code, with the following entries:
Collection System, Can’t Read Code, Description, Status, Family
Typically, the administrator maps the read codes during system installation and configuration. For more information see the IEE Configuration Guide.
Use the Read Codes Mapping user interface to update can't read codes if they change.
-
Go to System Administration > System Admin > Read Codes Mapping.
-
(Optional) Using the Items with Format dropdown menu, filter the list of read codes.
-
Click any External Code (read code) to select it. If more than one code shares the same reading status and format, use Shift-Click or Ctrl-Click to select multiple rows.
-
In the Map as pane, select a Reading Status to assign to this code.
-
Select a Format to assign to this code.
-
If the Read code is a valid status, select Is Valid Reading.
-
Click Save.
