External system table

This code table defines values for the types of systems that communicate with IEE, such as collection systems, billing systems, and customer information systems.

Use the following procedure to configure the External System Code Table:

  1. Go to System Administration > System Admin > Code Table Setup.

  2. From the Code Table Selection list, select External System Table.

  3. Use the Number of rows to insert on add dropdown menu to select the number of blank rows to add to the code table.

  4. From the Code Table Setup menu, click Add. The new rows appear in the table.

  5. Click to select each blank row added and configure the following parameters:

    • ID. The ID must match the CollectionSystem attribute of the DeviceCommServices element.

    • Description

    • Time Zone. Defines the time zone of the external system.

Note: Set the Time zone field in this table to the time zone where the data is being read or collected. This may be a different time zone from the one where you are using IEE.

  6. Select the External System Type.

  7. Select the Addressing Type. For AMI Readings Import (ARI) processes, the addressing type defines how IEE maps physical specifications of data streams from meters and devices to the logical representations in IEE of a service point channel.

    • EndPointChannelID. The EndPointID and a metered channel number. EndpointID can be either Meter.EndpointID or RecordingDevice.ExternalRecordingDeviceID. The MarketType and IsRegister attributes are important in this scheme to identify the service point channel unambiguously. Typically, select EndPointChannelID when readings are imported from an Itron ChoiceConnect Fixed Network solution.

    • EndPoint.UOMID. EndpointUOMID. EndpointID can be either Meter.EndpointID or RecordingDevice.ExternalRecordingDeviceID. UOMID is mapped using a mapping table. The MarketType and IsRegister attributes are important in this scheme to identify the service point channel unambiguously. Typically, select Endpoint.UOMID when readings are imported from an Itron OpenWay solution.

    • MeterChannelID. MeterID and a channel number.

    • RecorderChannelID. RecorderID and a channel number for the associated meter. If the register number exists, then the RecorderChannelID is the register number. If the register number does not exist, then the RecorderChannelID is assumed to be the IntervalChannel number.

    • RegisterChannelDecodeNameTypeID. RegisterChannelDecodeName Type ID addressingtype is in the format of "X:Y" where X represents the Meter ID and Y represents the RegesterChannelDecodeNameType associated with the register channel under the meter.

    • ServicePointChannelID. ServicePointID and a service point channel number.

  8. Click Enter to save the values to the code table.

  9. Click Save.

Note: After updating any code table, you must restart the IIS service for the changes to take effect.
