Rate: General tab

Use the General tab to configure global attributes for a rate schedule, such as name, description, commodity, and so on.

Configuring Global Information for a Rate Schedule

  1. Go to Rate Modeler > Rates > Create or Edit > Rate.
    • To create a rate schedule, from the Action menu select Create New Rate Schedule.
    • To edit a rate schedule, select it from the Rate Name dropdown menu.
  2. Enter a new Rate Name and Description.
  3. (Optional) Enter a General Ledger Code to apply to the rate as a whole. (Each charge block also has a General Ledger Code.) Provides a way to identify a rate in addition to the rate name. The GL Code is not included in the billing determinant request. It is included in the response only.

Note: An error message appears if this is a duplicate of an existing rate schedule.

  4. (Required) Select the Service Provider for that location. Customer facilities may be in various locations and served by different providers.
  5. (Optional) Select a Last Update Date. This can be the last time the customer made a change to the rate model, or the effective date shown on the tariff sheet. This parameter represents a tariff update date, not necessarily the date the rate was updated in IEE. You can also choose an effective date to adjust the rate model as necessary. This date does not affect the rate's validity. It must be updated manually as it does not update automatically when a rate changes.

Note: Effective date and times on rates, bill attributes, and rate assignments are shown relative to the user's workgroup time zone rather than relative to the Service Point time zone. The Service Point time zone is used for bill determinant and rate calculations.

  6. (Optional) Select the appropriate Customer Segment checkboxes. Commercial and Industrial customers typically select both of those boxes checked, whereas Residential and Agriculture typically select only their respective checkbox.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Proceed to one of the other tabs in the rate schedule.
