Viewing the edit log

Use View Edit Log to view the following information for each data edit operation.

  • The Edit Start and Edit End Date of the edit operation.
  • The Edit Mode that was applied to the operation.
  • The Edit Code.
  • The User Name of the person who performed the edit.
  • The user comments associated with the edit.
  • Additional channels that received the same edits.
  1. Go to Meter Data Management > Tools > Editing > View Edit Log.
  2. Configure one or more of the following parameters to filter the edit log. All parameters are optional.
    • Entity. Enter a Service Point ID and Service Point channel number or click Search to use the IEE search utility. For more information, see Using the Search Utility.
    • User ID. Enter the user name of the person who performed the edits.
    • Edit Operation. Select the type of edit.
    • User Edit Code. Select an edit code. The edit code was assigned by the user when the edit was saved to the database.
    • Edit Start and Edit End Dates. Enter a date and time range. This date and time range applies to the date the read was recorded by the meter. For example, to view edited data with read dates of noon 01 May 2012 through noon 04 May 2012, enter an Edit Start time of 1 May 2012 11:59 and an Edit End time of 4 May 2012 12:01.
    • Edit Performed Start and Edit Performed End Dates. Enter a date and time range. This range applies to the date the data was edited. For example, to view data that was edited on 30 May 2012, enter 30 May 2012 in Edit Performed Start and Edit Performed End.
  3. Click Submit. The log items that match the criteria specified display in the list.
  4. Click the row number of each line in the list to display the User Comments associated with that edit. These are shown in the User Comments pane. Also shown are the additional channels edited during the same operation.

    Note: When the log report shows, right-clicking on a data row produces a Data Edit Model for that service point in the User Comments display area.
