Data capture
The IEE database stores the two types of CSI data in two different locations, the persistent data store and the transient data store.
Persistent Data Store
The persistent data store primarily contains data used for reporting and analytical purposes, and provides a storage location for meter channel and register readings for CSI.
This store also houses system settings, customer configurations and route configurations.
Although this data may be partially redundant with data stored in the temporal store, changes made to the persistent data do not necessarily affect the transient data and vice versa.
Transient Data Store
The transient data store contains data relevant to request and response processing.
The foundation of the transient data is the "request" provided by the customer information system (CIS). IEE holds this data in tables until readings are captured for the request and IEE sends the response to the CIS. After the response has been fulfilled, IEE saves the data that was used to fulfill the request in a smaller set of reporting tables in the persistent data store and deletes the original request.
The schema of the transient data store must support the creation of Work Collection objects for interfacing with nVanta collection systems and support the creation of request files in Integrator and Premierplus4 formats.
Transient data is linked to persistent data through the meter channel/register. Each register on the transient side will map to a register on the persistent side.
