Configuration

For the CSI solution, the primary use of configuration data is for analysis of the meter reading process. Most attributes are optional if the utility is unable to maintain them over time.

Configuration data addresses entities, relationships and attributes for all customers, accounts, service points, meters, registers and channels defined for the utility. The data persists in the IEE database for use when receiving meter readings and for subsequent analysis.

At a minimum, data persists for the length of time that it takes to retrieve a reading from a meter and send a response to the database. For more information about data persistence, see the IEE v6.0 Configuration Guide.

Configuration data can be added to the IEE database in several ways:

  • Direct entry using Configuration Maintenance for a small number of additions, deletions or edits

  • Automated entry using IEE's various import adapters for a large numbers of additions, deletions or edits

  • Conversion and ongoing updates from source systems such as Request files, CIS or MV-90 xi systems using the import adapters.
