Configuring a time of use block

In a time-of-use (TOU) rate structure, a period of time during which a particular unit price rate for electricity applies. For example, a TOU block might be from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

  1. Enter the Time of Use Block ID and a Description. For example, create a Block ID called OnPeak, and a text description of which hours this block includes. TOU Block IDs cannot start with a numeric character.

Tip: For all solutions you can use the Default checkbox to set the block to the IEE default Off-Peak Schedule, which includes all hours not already defined as On-Peak. The default Off-Peak Schedule updates automatically as On-Peak blocks are defined. See Default off-peak TOU schedule for more information.

  2. Select the applicable UOM End Use from the dropdown.
  3. Under Season, right-click the new block and select Add Schedule Period.
  4. Enter the Day of Week, Start and End Times, and the Schedule Type.
  5. Repeat to add a Schedule Period for each block under each season.
  6. When you have defined all seasons and blocks for this TOU Schedule, click Save.

Note: You will not be able to save if you have not defined a default block.

  7. Repeat this task to create any additional TOU Schedules.
  8. Click Save.
