Configuring the import data manager service

The Import Data Manager service consumes import file rows from the FileInventory table that contain managed import files, and then it performs the necessary processing. This service handles ARI workbin assignments and creation of the Standard Reading Import-Enhanced (SRI-E) tasks, as well as banking reads when necessary. There can be multiple Import Data Manager (IDM) services to support scalability.

1. Go to System Administration > Service Management.
2. Click Add Service.
3. From Service Type, select Import Data Manager Service.
4. In the Service ID field, enter the service ID.

   The Service ID is the user-provided name of the service. The name must be unique.

5. Select the Enabled checkbox to allow the service to run. If the checkbox is not selected, the service is prevented from running.
6. Set the preferred and alternate servers to run this service.

   Note: If the Additional Setup button is unavailable, there is no additional setup required.

7. Click Save.
