AMI readings import (ARI)

The ARI process imports large volumes of data (25,000 to 35,000 reads per second) in a fast, proficient manner.

Note: You must have the necessary security role permissions to enable AMI Readings Import (ARI) and ARI monitoring from the ARI Dashboard. For more information, see User role permissions: Descriptions.

ARI provides:

  • The ability to use an automated process to collect meter readings for the previous calendar day.

  • The ability to concurrently import supporting data, such as validation statistics and gap log information, into the IEE database.

  • Flat configuration, so that ARI can use configuration data without directly querying the database.

  • Background tasks to support the ARI processes and monitoring.

  • Receiver services to parse inbound readings files and direct the contents of those files to workbin files.

  • Automatic validation and estimation (VE) services to validate and, where applicable, estimate interval readings data and create clean reading files.

  • A clean-up process to remove non-critical data and old files and records from processing tables, based on creation date.

For more information about ARI and its supporting processes and components, see the AMI Readings Import Guide.
