Validation slots
Use validation slots to assign validation sets to service point channels.
Each service point channel has three validation slots. Data that is imported through the standard readings import process is validated by all three validation slots in order (ValidationSlot1, then ValidationSlot2, and then ValidationSlot3). Data that is imported through the AMI readings import (ARI) process or through the standard readings import (SRI) process in data collection window (DCW) mode is validated only by ValidationSlot1, which is the primary validation slot.
Typically, IEE administrators create validation sets that have a specific purpose, such as billing or load research and analysis. Each validation slot ID has a name that describes the purpose of the validation set it contains. The name makes it easier for users to identify validation slots throughout IEE. For example, it is easier for a queue operator to understand ValidationSlot1(Billing) than it is to remember that ValidationSlot1 is the Billing slot.
The name also helps queue operators prioritize the queue items to address each day. For example, queue items that failed the Billing validation set typically have a higher priority than queue items that failed the Other validation set.
The default validation slot names are Billing, Load Research, and Other. IEE allows you to change these names. However, this must be done during initial IEE configuration and not changed later. To define validation slot names, go to System Administration > Validation Slot Names. For more information, see Validation slot names.
