Filtering queue items for queue assignment

Only queue items that meet the current filter criteria are assigned to operators. You can use filters to match queue items to operators who have particular areas of knowledge. For example, you might have an operator team that specializes in resolving a particular exception category. You can filter the queue to include only items with that exception category and distribute the items evenly to each member of the team.

The filter criteria available to you depend on which queue you are using.

ClosedFiltering assignable items in the reading validation queue

  1. In the top pane, click Filter.

  2. In the Queue Assignments Filter window, select the date range of the queue items to assign.

    • Processed Date. The date a user or IEE performed an action on the data that caused the exception.

    • Validation Date. The date that IEE performed validation on the data.

  3. From the Date Range dropdown menu, select a defined range such as Yesterday or Last Thirty Days. To enter exact start and end dates, select Custom and enter the Start Time and End Time manually.

  4. In the Parameter list, select one or more parameters to add to the Build Filter Criteria table. The filter counts each additional parameter as an AND condition.

    • Validation Status. The overall status of the validation queue item. This status applies to the meter, not to the individual channels. If one channel failed validation and two channels passed, the validation status for the meter is FAIL.

    • Owner. Defines the person assigned to research and correct this error or exception. Include the Owner parameter when you want to reassign queue items to one or more operators.

    • Queue Status. Defines the current status of this queue item, such as New or In Process. Queue Status values are utility-specific. Administrators define Queue Status values for each queue in System Administration > Code Table Setup > Validation Queue Status table.

  5. For each parameter, select a Condition for the values. For example, select Equals to include items that have one of the values defined in the filter. Select NotEquals to exclude items that match the values.

  6. For each parameter, define a maximum of three values to include in the filter. The filter counts each additional value as an OR condition.

For example, to filter for queue items that are owned by one of two operators, select the Owner parameter and select the Equals condition. In the Value column, select an operator. In the Or column, select an operator. When you apply the filter, only queue items owned by one of those two operators are included in the queue assignments.

  7. (Optional) Use the Common Filter to filter queue items by configuration entity. For more information, see Using the common filter.

  8. Click Apply. The Filter Items total displays the number of items that match the filter criteria. The New Assignments Add Up To total displays the number of items assigned to all users selected in the operator list.
