AMI collection systems

This code table defines values for communications with one or more AMI collection systems. Use the table to assign an external system to the collection system adapter and define the way IEE subscribes to the collection system to receive data. In addition, you have the ability to trigger a manual subscription.

Use the following procedure to configure the AMI Collection Systems code table:

  1. Go to System Administration > System Admin > Code Table Setup.

  2. From the Code Table Selection list, select AMI Collection Systems.

  3. Use the Number of rows to insert on add dropdown menu to select the number of blank rows to add to the code table.

  4. From the Code Table Setup menu, click Add. The new rows appear in the table.

  5. Click to select each blank row added and configure the following parameters:

    • Enable Check Box. Determines whether the AMI collection system is enabled.

    • Collection System Adapter. This corresponds to the type of collection system that IEE will be integrated with.

    • External System. Select an external system.

    • Subscribe to Endpoint Data. Determines whether to subscribe to endpoint data.

    • Subscribe to Meter Exceptions. Determines whether to subscribe to meter exceptions.

    • Subscribe to DI Outcome Data and Events. Determines whether to subscribe to DI outcome data and events that are collected from recurring interrogations.

    • Subscribe to DI Alarms. Determines whether to subscribe to DI meter alarms that arrive unsolicited, in real time.

    Subscription Status

    • Auto-Subscribe. Determines whether to automatically subscribe.

    • Auto-Unsubscribe. Determines whether to automatically unsubscribe.

    • Check Status. Verifies the subscription type's subscribe/unsubscribe status.

    • Manual Subscribe. Determines whether to manually subscribe to the selected data.

    • Manual Unsubscribe. Determines whether to manually unsubscribe to the selected data.

Use the following tabs to add constraints to the subscriptions:

    Meter Data Subscriber Tab

    • Endpoint Data Address. This can be either a URL or an Endpoint (when endpoint and event data is received). This field usually points to the DeviceCommDataImportService.

    • Meter Exceptions Address. This can be either a URL or an Endpoint (when exceptions data is received). This field usually points to the DeviceCommExceptionImportService.

    DI Data Subscriber Tab

      • DI Outcome Address: the head end's DI data publisher's address
      • DI Outcome Username
      • DI Outcome Password
      • DI Datafeed Address:  the URL that points to the specific DI data feeds that IEE can subscribe to. The OWOC data feed URL format is as follows:

        <serverhost>/ihes/api/v1/di/dataFeeds/

    Groups Tab

    • Constrain by Group. Enables or disables constraining endpoint data subscription by Application groups.

    • Add to List. Adds an Application group name entered in the text box to the list on the left. This is the list of Application groups that is used to constrain the endpoint and event data that is received. IEE receives data related to these Application groups only.

Note: Application group is required for an OpenWay Collection System.

    Endpoint Types Tab

    • Constrain by Endpoint. Enables/disables a constraining endpoint data subscription by Endpoint Type.

    • Add to List. Adds the Endpoint Type that is selected from combo box to the list on the left. The combo box contains a predefined list of endpoint types supported by the collection system. This is the list of endpoint types that is used to constrain endpoint and event data received.

    Exception Categories Tab

    • Constrain by Exception Category. Enables and disables constraining exception data subscription by exception categories.

    • Add to List. Adds the selected exception category from combo box to the list on the left. The combo box contains a predefined list of exception categories supported by the collection system. This is a list of exception categories that is used to constrain exception data received. IEE receives exceptions for these categories only.

Capabilities checkboxes. Determines whether the collection system supports the selected capabilities. Select the checkboxes to indicate supported capabilities.

Note: When a meter is configured using Program Based Configuration (PBC), both the program capabilities and the collection system capabilities determine if a particular capability is available. When a meter is configured using Advanced Configuration, the collection system alone determines the available capabilities.
