Billing validation (custom)

Billing validation helps ensure accurate customer billing by evaluating the bill data before it is exported to the billing system. It is part of the AMI billing export process. Billing determinants are only calculated and optionally validated if IEE receives an AMI billing export request.

Utilities implement billing validation through a customized stored procedure that evaluates the billing determinants just prior to export.

IEE sends billing data that fails validation to the AMI billing export queue, where users can evaluate and correct the data as necessary. IEE includes all billing data that passes validation in the billing response file exported to the external billing system.
