Entity relationships within the IEE database
The database tracks changes in relationships and business object attributes that occur over time. Some business objects, such as account and premise, often change. Accounts change as customers move, account names change, or the revenue class changes. Data management refers to such changes as slowly changing dimensions.
When attributes, such as names and revenue class, change, the database retains the original records and adds new records for the changed attributes, often with effective start and end dates. Similarly, business object relationships in the database exist for a defined time. When relationships change, the original relationship adds an effective end date and the new relationship has an effective start date.
