Searching for an account using the Advanced Search Tool

The Advanced Search tool allows you to build custom queries to configure an advanced search for an account. The search selections you make using the Advanced Search tool are stored locally by your browser and selected the next time you open an advanced search from the same browser. This feature allows you to quickly search for accounts using your preferred method.

  1. On the Customer Service Dashboard, click Advanced Search.

  2. In the query builder, select a field from the Field dropdown menu.

  3. Select an operator from the Operator dropdown menu.

    • =.  The results are identical to the value.

    • <>.  The results are not identical to the value.

    • Contains.  The results include the value.

    • Does not Contain.  The results do not include the value.

    • In.  The results are identical to any of several comma-separated values.

  4. Type the value you want to search for in the Value box.

Tip: As you type a value into the box, Itron Analytics displays a filtered dropdown menu with auto-complete suggestions. Each auto-complete suggestion contains a positive match to the text strings you enter, as you enter it. You can click an auto-complete suggestion to select it for your search value.

Tip: Itron Analytics allows some special characters as valid search criteria. If your search includes a special character which Itron Analytics does not recognize as valid, then a message appears indicating that your search contains invalid characters.

Tip: A blank value returns all results for that field.

  5. (Optional) Click Add () to add a row to the query.

    1. (Optional) Select a modifier for the row from the And/Or menu.

      • And.  The results must match the current row and the rows above.

      • Or.  The results may match the current row or the rows above.

    2. (Optional) Select a Field, Operator, and type a Value.

  6. (Optional) Click to remove a row from the query.

  7. Click Search.

If your search returns multiple results, then the results are displayed in the account search results table. For more information, see Customer Service dashboard. If your search returns only one result, then the account page for that result is opened. For more information, see Account page.
