Editing water common stored units settings

Use the Common Stored Units tab to define a unit of measure that Itron Analytics converts meter data to before storing it in the database. This unit of measure is called the common stored unit. Itron Analytics applies the common stored unit to all meters collecting that commodity type. Itron Analytics then stores the meter data in the common unit, regardless of the unit of measure the meter uses to collect and report the data. Doing so allows Itron Analytics to summarize the data in the most effective manner possible.

Tip: The dashboards in the Analytics Portal allow data to be converted to a specific unit for display purposes only. For more information, see Enabled Units.

Caution: The common stored unit cannot be changed after read data for that commodity has been loaded in Itron Analytics. Before making any changes to the Common Stored Units values, contact Itron Technical Support Services at support@itron.com or 1-877-487-6602.

1. On the Water page, click the Common Stored Units tab.

2. From the Usage Units menu, select a usage unit.

   Tip: For optimal performance and ease of use, select the unit of measure that matches most meters in the system.

3. In the Flow Units menu, select a flow unit.

   Tip: For optimal performance and ease of use, select the unit of measure that matches most meters in the system.

4. Click Update.
