Alert Messages

The Alert Messages page is located under the Customer Portal menu. Use this page to modify the content of the usage alert messages received by utility customers. These alert messages are displayed in the Customer Portal's message box and are also delivered by email and text. The alert message can contain embedded data values indicating the commodity, location, and date of the alert. This feature helps customers manage their own usage patterns and participate in incentive plans.

Tip: By default, Customer Portal alerts are not sent from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM (server's local time). To disable this feature or change the hours during which alerts are not sent, contact Itron Cloud Services.

To edit a Customer Portal email alert message:

  1. On the Alert Messages page, click Edit for the message you want to modify.

    Important! Changing the message text changes only the email alert message, it does not change the text message. To change the text message, contact Itron Customer Support.

  2. Type the alert subject in Subject.

  3. Type the alert message in Messageusing the context displayed in the Legend.

    An example of the message is indicated in the Message Display area.

  4. Click Update.
