MetrixIDR

MetrixIDR is designed to forecast daily, hourly, or sub-hourly loads for transmission systems, a list of delivery points, or a portfolio of customers.

  • For system operators and distribution utilities, forecast models are developed at the transmission zone level. Models are optimized for each zone to provide the best possible accuracy. Bottom-up and top-down approaches are supported.

  • For energy wholesalers and G&T companies, forecast models are developed by delivery point. Models are optimized for each delivery point, and forecasts are then aggregated to the customer or zone level.

  • For energy suppliers, MetrixIDR provides a combination of direct modeling and profiling methods, both of which allow the portfolio to change on a daily basis.

    • For the largest customers, MetrixIDR supports the use of individual models for each customer, based on modeling templates or custom models.

    • For mass markets, the system uses profile models that represent customer segments, and these forecasts are then scaled to represent the customers in that segment.

In the area of Retail Forecasting, MetrixIDR, applications include:

  • Individual customer forecasting for interval-metered customers.
  • Short-term forecasting for energy scheduling.
  • Long-term or life-of-contract forecasting for planning.
  • Market price forecasting by zone or by node.

In the area of Delivery Point Forecasting, applications include:

  • Short-term transmission system loads for system balancing.
  • Long-term transmission system loads for system planning.
  • Direct serve customer loads.
  • Wholesale electric loads.
  • Substation loads.
