Backcast Example

When generating a backcast for the prior day, the backcast parameters should be set as follows:

• Rule Type: Day + 1
• ClockTime = 6:15 AM
• Calibrate and Tune = Checked

This rule specifies that on May 30, the backcast will begin on May 28 at 6:15 AM and generate a forecast for May 28 and 29 (Duration=2). Because tune is checked, tuning parameters are calculated based on data that are available through May 27 and short-term blending is done using the final observations through 6:10 AM on May 28.

If this backcast is run every day, the resulting series will be a series of 1-day-ahead forecasts.
