Factory Ship Mode

Switch the ERT from its current programmed configuration (frequency and power level at which it transmits its SCM) to Factory Ship Mode. When in Factory Ship Mode, ERTs do not transmit radio messages. When the workflow completes, a success message indicates the ERT or meter is switched to Factory Ship Mode.

To confirm that the ERT or module is in Factory Ship Mode, you can perform the Read command. A Read command is unsuccessful when the ERT or module is in Factory Ship Mode, and one of the following messages appear:

Note: Do not use the Check command to verify whether the ERT or module is in Factory Ship Mode. Performing a Check command on an ERT or module that is in Factory Ship Mode, moves the ERT out of Factory Ship Mode and into a programmable mode.

For information on automatic wakeup on pulses detected, see Factory Ship Mode: Automatically Wakeup on Pulses Detected.

For information on switching the ERT or meter from Factory Ship Mode and into an operating mode, see Gen5 and OpenWay Riva ERTs, meters, and cellular modules operating mode activation.

The inputs may vary by device. Expand the device type you're working with for its input details.

Note: Itron recommends performing the Factory Ship Mode command in a controlled environment, such as a meter shop, and only after the ERT is removed from the meter.
