Check EFC Status

Extended Field Communications (EFC) allow a device that is successfully communicating with a network, called the parent, to relay messages to and from another device (the child) that is unable to communicate directly with the network.

Check EFC Status retrieves and displays EFC-related status information about the meter, including whether it is enabled for EFC functions and if it is currently in an EFC pairing as either parent or child. Check EFC Status also retrieves the meter's proxy MAC address:

• For parent meters, this indicates the MAC address for its child devices.

• For child meters, this indicates the MAC address for its parent device.

• For meters that are not in an EFC pairing as either parent or child, this is indicated with a series of zeros returned in the Proxy MAC Address field.
