Introduction

Field Deployment Manager (FDM) is Itron’s premier software for meter/endpoint deployment, meter data collection, and workforce management. It combines the functionality of several earlier applications in a single more consistent, flexible, and easy-to-use application. FDM supports safe and efficient deployment and maintenance of meters, endpoints, and network equipment, ensuring operational efficiency for both back office and field worker productivity.

FDM:

  • Electronically captures and validates installation data, reducing errors and site re-visits.

  • Automates endpoint programming to ensure that the appropriate parameter settings are set.

  • Ensures network connectivity.

  • Includes optional invoicing and inventory management modules.

This guide explains how to install and use the FDM server client software. It covers all FDM server client features. Which features you have access to depends which optional modules are enabled on your FDM system and on the permissions associated with your user role (for more information, see ).
