Program Endpoint
When you program an endpoint, you provide it with essential information about the meter, such as the meter’s configuration, pressure compensation (PCOMP) value and thresholds(gas meters), and current reading. This information synchronizes the endpoint with the meter and gives it a base point from which to calculate future reads. During the Program Endpoint workflow, you also define which configuration files get applied to the endpoint. For endpoint communicating with encoder registers only, it is necessary to make a Truncation selection. The truncation value determines how many digits the meter register's reporting value is shortened.
After the endpoint is successfully programmed, it registers itself on the network and receives from the network an absolute time value for any meter events that occur while the endpoint operates in Unix time. It is possible for the endpoint to become out of sync with the network time. When retrieving data, if the endpoint time is outside of network tolerances, FDM automatically performs a time synchronization to adjust results to the current time listed on the mobile device used to execute the command.
This form is used to set application time initially during installation of the device, before it has joined the network. This method is only used for local operations that are executed from the Tools application, and the endpoint only honors the directive to set Unix Time when it is not connected to the BACT network.
Caution: Reprogramming an endpoint's current encoder or programming an endpoint while attaching a new encoder erases the endpoint's extract interval data.
You must have Program Endpoints permission to perform this function.

Note: Programming a Gen5 500G endpoint more than 15 times results in the error: "There is an error while processing your request - Legally Relevant Log Full."
Note: Intelis Gas OW Riva Meters can fail to program meter reading and PCOMP under any of the following circumstances:
