Setting up an optical probe on a laptop

1. Follow the instructions provided with your ABACUS ELECTRICS optical probe to install the probe’s driver on your laptop.
2. Plug the probe into a USB port on the laptop.
3. Open the Windows Device Manager. Expand the Ports (COM & LPT1) node to view a list of ports configured on the computer. Note the COM port number assigned to the ABACUS Optical Probe.
4. In the FDM mobile application, select Settings on the system menu.

   

   The system opens the Settings screen.

5. On the Radio tab page, for the Optical Probe Port setting, select the COM port number assigned to the optical probe in the Windows Device Manager.
6. Tap OK to save your settings and close the Settings screen.
