Connecting a Bluetooth device to a laptop
Note: The following procedure provides an example of how to pair a Bluetooth device with a laptop. It may vary somewhat from the procedure you will have to follow with the Bluetooth radio and software on your own laptop.
-
Turn on the Bluetooth device you want to connect to the laptop.
- Start the Bluetooth management application on the laptop and follow the applicable procedure for adding a Bluetooth device.
-
When the Bluetooth application prompts you for a pairing code, enter the applicable pairing code (Bluetooth PIN) for the device (see Bluetooth Device Setup on a Laptop) and click Next.
-
When the pairing procedure is finished, open the Windows Devices and Printers window.
-
In the Properties window, select the Hardware tab.
Make a note of the COM port to which the new device is assigned (COM3, in this example). You will need to ensure that the device's communication port settings in FDM matches this value.
