Tamper and Event List
The type of tamper/event available depends on the type of ERT module. Tamper/event conditions are defined as:
- Access Control Failed. This event occurs with an application level security failure for access control.
- Active Burst. The meter is currently in a high flow state outside of the meter parameters.
- Active Empty Pipe. The meter is currently in an empty pipe state.
- Active Reverse Flow Meter. Event detail is not available.
- Authentication Failed.This event occurs with an application level security failure for authentication.
- Auto Shut Off. This event occurs if a device is shut off automatically.
- Cable Cut. Detects a cut or break in the cable.
- Cut Cable End. The ERT no longer detects a physical cut cable. Valid for OW Riva Water pulser and OW Riva 500G remote.
- Cable Cut/Magnetic. Detects a cut or break in the cable, and detects presence of external magnetic field.
- Configuration Downloaded. This event occurs when a new configuration is downloaded.
- Consumer Leak Detected. The ERT detects a continuous leak flow over a set period of time.
- Consumer Leak End. The ERT detects the end of a continuous leak flow after a leak was reported.
- Count Rate Changed. This event occurs when the count rate metrology counter is changed.
- Count Sample Debounce Changed. This event occurs when the count sample configuration debounce parameter metrology parameter is changed.
- Count Sample Width Changed. This event occurs when the count sample configuration sample width parameter metrology parameter is changed.
- Count Sample Rate Changed. This event occurs when the count sample configuration sample rate parameter metrology parameter is changed.
- Critical Error. A catch-all for critical internal errors not covered in other events.
- Demand Reset. Meter detects a button-press demand reset (possible tampering).
- Detached. Detects a number of problems including cut cable, poor communications, corrupt data, or that the ERT module was removed from the meter.
- Device Not Communicating. This event occurs when the application has not received any incoming data that indicates the device may not be communicating on the network.
- Device Reconfigured. This event occurs when the configuration has changed in the device.
- Electronic Tamper. The Electronics of the device have been tampered with or removed.
- Encoder Driver Type Changed. This event occurs when the encoder driver type metrology parameter is changed.
- End of Meter Life. The meter is near the end of its expected life.
- Encoder Programming. The Encoder setup has been changed one or more times since production.
- Entering Mobile Mode. The device has been changed from OW Riva Network communication protocol to Mobile communication protocol.
- Entering OW Riva Network Mode. The device has been changed to OW Riva Network communication protocol.
- Flash Error. The ERT detects a flash error.
- High Flow Threshold. The user has exceeded the maximum number of counts in the high flow threshold interval.
- High Pressure Alarm. The meter has detected maximum pressure.
- High Temperature Alarm. The meter has reached its maximum operating temperature.
- Historic Burst. Event detail is not available.
- Historic Empty Pipe. Event detail is not available.
- Historic Reverse Flow Meter. Event detail is not available.
- Image Transfer Initiated. A firmware download has been initiated successfully.
- Image Transfer Canceled. A firmware download has been canceled.
- Image Transfer Cancel Failed. A firmware download cancellation has not completed successfully.
- Image Verification Initiated. A firmware download verification has been initiated.
- Image Verification Successful. A firmware download verification has completed successfully.
- Image Verification Failed. A firmware download verification has not completed successfully.
- Image Activation Initiated. A firmware download activation has been initiated.
- Image Activation Successful. A firmware download activation has completed successfully.
- Image Activation Failed. A firmware download activation has not completed successfully.
- Improper Installation Detected. This event occurs when the ERT cannot adopt configuration information.
- Initial Index. This event occurs when the initial index metrology parameter is changed.
- Inter Digit. A corrupt digit exists within the encoded register reading.
- Invalid Read. The register is not sending a valid read.
- Inversion. Detects when the meter is installed upside down and has power applied.
- Key Signing. This event occurs with an application level security failure for certificates.
- Key Update. This event occurs when the key is updated in the device.
- Last Interval is Sum (water). The last interval returned with a datalogging interval read is a summation.
- Leak Detection (water). Detects after flow is continuous over seven days (no zero-consumption intervals). The flag is reset to zero on the next zero-consumption interval.
- Leak Detection/Reverse Flow (water). Indicates that both Leak Detection and Reverse Flow conditions exist. The indicator changes when one condition no longer exists and resets to zero when both conditions no longer exist.
- Leak Meter Alarm. Event detail is not available.
- Leak Sensor OK (water). If 1, the endpoint has a leak sensor attached and is working properly. If 0, the ERT module has a leak sensor attached, but it is not communicating.
- Legally Relevant Event Log Nearly Full. The Legally Relevant Event Log is at 90% of its total capacity.
- Load Profile Cleared. This event occurs when the Load Profile object is cleared.
- Low Pressure Alarm. The meter has detected minimum meter pressure.
- Low Temperature Alarm. The meter is currently at its minimum operating temperature.
- Low Battery. An electric meter has a low battery warning or an end-of-calendar warning. A water ERT module has a low battery.
- Low Battery/Detached. Indicates a low battery condition or detached condition.
- Magnetic. Detects presence of external magnetic field.
- Manual Time Sync. This event occurs when the time has been changed manually.
- Meter Error. Meter has an error or warning that can affect billing date (for example: carryover error).
- Meter Removal. Detects when the tilt detector is activated within two seconds after power loss.
- Meter Temperature Alarm. Event detail is not available.
- Meter Tamper. Event detail is not available.
- Meter Warning. Meter has a warning that may require a site visit, depending on utility practice (for example: reverse energy flow warning).
- Meter Quiet Mode Exit. The event occurs when the ERT first detects pulses or detects consumption.
- Not Current Read. The read returned is not the current read (date/time).
- PCOMP Changed. This event occurs when the PCOMP metrology parameter is changed.
- Prescaler Changed. This event occurs when the prescaler metrology parameter is changed.
- Pulser/Encoder (water). If 1, using an encoder; otherwise, using a pulser.
- Pulse Mismatch. The ERT detects an internal pulse mismatch.
- Register Error. Communication with the register cannot be completed.
- Register Removal. The meter register has been tampered with or removed.
- Removal (electric and gas). Meter has been removed.
- Removal(water). Detects a number of problems including cut cable, poor communications, corrupt data, or that the ERT module was removed from the meter.
- Replay Attack Detected. This event occurs with an application level security failure for replays.
- Restart. This event occurs with a planned restart of the ERT.
- Reverse Flow. Detects when an hourly index value is less than the previous hourly value. The flag remains set for 40 days. The 40-day counter restarts upon each occurrence of a reverse flow event. The value resets to zero after completing a 40-day cycle with no additional reverse flow occurrences.
- Reverse Flow End. The ERT detects the end of a reverse flow after the reverse flow was reported.
- Reverse Flow Meter. Event detail is not available.
- Reverse Rotation. Detects when the meter disk rotates backwards for more than four revolutions.
- Right Size Complete. The right sizing data collection is complete.
- Rollover Count Changed. This event occurs when the rollover count metrology parameter is changed.
- Set Battery Params. This event occurs with any change to the Battery Use Parameters structure.
- System Reboot. This event occurs when the system goes through a reboot.
- Takeover Package Accepted. This event occurs when a takeover package was presented and accepted by the ERT.
- Takeover Package Rejected. This event occurs when a takeover package was presented but rejected by the ERT.
- Tilt. Detects a tilt of greater than 60 degrees for more than 0.5 second.
- Tilt Debounce Parameter Changed. The parameter not related to the meter reading is reprogrammed.
- Time Sync. This event occurs when a time change is greater than the warning level threshold.
- Valve Tamper. The valve has been tampered with or removed
- Zero Consumption Detected. The meter has detected no usage.
