Air in Pipe Event in the Intelis Gas Meter

The Intelis gas meter supports an air in pipe event with system notification.

Automatic notification due to air detected in the meter is used to notify the utility of air within the meter. The detection of air in the meter can be used to indicate unintentional meter removal or a supply problem.

In both Mobile (ChoiceConnect) mode and Network (OpenWay Riva) mode:

  • Upon detection of air in the meter, an air in pipe detected event will be added to the event log in the Intelis gas meter. A subsequent lack of air in meter detection will result in an air in pipe end event being added to the event log in the Intelis Gas meter. For more information, seethe FDM Mobile Application Guide for more information about events.

  • The air in pipe enable/disable parameter cannot be changed in the FDM Mobile Application. The FDM Mobile Application does support programming a meter configuration that contains the air in pipe enable/disable parameter.

  • The FDM Mobile Application can read an air in pipe event and will display it on the Check screen.

In Mobile (ChoiceConnect) mode only:

  • Detection of air in pipe will result in a tamper bit being set in the endpoint in the Intelis Gas meter.
  • The tamper bit will be cleared when the air in pipe condition is gone.
