Description

Business Unit Properties

Displays and lets you modify general settings used throughout your business unit. These include its name, the market types of its utility endpoints (electric, gas, water, or telemetry), and the direction in which the FDM mobile software displays and records meter readings entered by your field service personnel.

Other business unit properties include audit engine and meter access program settings, dispatch and appointment settings, business office location properties, and device command log settings.

Meter/Endpoint Configuration 

Carrier Frequencies

Lets you add and configure radio carrier frequencies licensed to your business unit for its handheld radios by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) or Industry Canada.

Device Commands

Lets you view, filter, download, and print device command log information.

This node appears only if you have View Device Commands role permissions.

Device Configurations 

Endpoint Configurations

Lets you view, reorder, enable or disable, and modify the properties of endpoint types supported by your business unit’s workflows.

Meter Configurations

Lets you view, reorder, enable or disable, and modify the properties of meters supported by your business unit’s workflows.

File Snapshots

Lets you create password-encrypted XML files or .zip files containing endpoint, meter, and associated settings for use by meter manufacturers in programming endpoints at the factory.

Network Security Keys

Lets you view, reorder, enable or disable, and modify the properties of network security keys used by your business unit’s workflows.

This node appears only if you enable in the Endpoint Configurations view one or more endpoints that use network security keys.

Pressure Compensations

Lets you set up your business unit's pressure compensation (PCOMP) factors for use in gas endpoint/meter work orders. Also lets you view, reorder, enable or disable, and modify the properties of PCOMPs supported by your business unit’s workflows.

This node appears only if you enable in the Endpoint Configurations view one or more gas endpoints that require pressure compensation values.

Utility IDs

Lets you view, reorder, enable or disable, and modify the properties of utility IDs used by your business unit’s workflows.

This node appears only if you enable in the Endpoint Configurations view one or more endpoints that require utility IDs.

Wakeup Tones

Lets you view, reorder, enable or disable, and modify the properties of endpoint wakeup tones supported by your business unit’s workflows.

This node appears only if you enable in the Endpoint Configurations view one or more endpoints that use wakeup tones.

User Management 

User Accounts

Lets you set up FDM user accounts and associate each one with the appropriate role for that user.

Roles

Lets you create new FDM user roles and manage existing ones, assigning to each role the permissions you want it to have to access specific FDM functions.

Business Unit Management 

Blackout Periods

Lets you view, add, remove, modify, and import blackout periods.

Export Schedules

Lets you schedule, view, enable and disable, and configure export packages for the system to generate automatic exports from the sever client to the utility.

Mobile Work Order Columns

Lets you view, reorder, add, and remove the columns displayed in the work order list on the FDM mobile application on your handheld and laptop meter data collection devices.

Mobile Devices

Lets you update the FDM mobile application on your handheld and laptop meter data collection devices. You can install a new version of the application on all of your mobile devices or only on selected ones.

Project Plans

Lets you import, create, and modify plans for installation projects for use in tracking and analyzing progress through the Dashboard workbench’s Installation graphs.

Reason Codes 

Could Not Complete

Lets you view, add, remove, and reorder reason codes for use by FSRs when they assign work orders to the Cannot Complete state.

Return to Utility

Lets you view, add, remove, and reorder reason codes for use by FSRs when they assign work orders to the Return To Utility state.

Workflows

Lets you update workflows on your handheld and laptop meter data collection devices.

Inventory

This node appears only in systems in which the FDM inventory module is enabled. It lets you configure your business units’ inventory locations and FSR vehicles for use in inventory management.

Warehouses

Lets you configure your business units’ warehouses.

Virtual Locations

Lets you configure one or more virtual locations for separating items that are available for deployment from those that are awaiting inspection or return to the manufacturer.

Vehicles

Lets you configure your FSRs’ service vehicles as a special kind of virtual inventory location that inventory items can be moved to and from, just as items can be moved to and from other virtual locations.

Standard Loads

Lets you define standard loads or lists of consumable inventory items for use by warehouse employees in stocking FSRs’ vehicles.
