File Retrieval

Use the File Retrieval command to get logs directly from the DI-enabled device. Selecting the File Retrieval command from the Distributed Intelligence menu can take several minutes.

Retrieving Files from a DI-Enabled Device

1. Select the Device Control Panel workflow.

2. Log onto the device and then select Distributed Intelligence > File Retrieval.

   FDM Tools reads the device's event log. This can take up to several minutes.

   By default FDM Tools displays the Agent Event Log.

3. Click Retrieve All Data.

   FDM Tools opens a standard Windows Save As dialog box.

4. Navigate to the location on your computer where you want to save the file retrieval .zip. and click Save As.

   FDM Tools can take several minutes to create the .zip file. Five to ten minutes is normal.

   The .zip file contains folders for each device path and DI agent directory listed in the File Retrieval window. Within each folder are .csv files for each log.
