Determining meter size and number of sensor boards

While programming an endpoint for formatted reads, you may need to determine the meter’s size and number of sensor boards (printed circuit boards). Encoder meters use sensor boards placed between the odometer wheels to obtain the meter reading.

You must visually examine the meter to determine the meter size and number of sensor boards (either two or three), as shown in the following example.

Tip: Colored sensor boards may be more clearly visible if viewed from the side.
