Selecting Menu Options, Buttons, Icons, and Data Boxes

The instructions in this guide require you to activate a variety of menu options, data entry boxes, and command buttons. FDM lets you do this in several ways.

  • On the handheld, you can use the stylus to tap or double-tap the desired item.
  • On the laptop, you can use the mouse pointer to click or double-click the desired item.
  • On the handheld or laptop, you can use the Tab key to move the focus (highlight) from one data box or command button to the next. When you have highlighted the desired item, press Enter to select it.
  • On the handheld or laptop, you can use the up-arrow and down-arrow keys to move the focus among menu options. When you have highlighted the desired option, press Enter to select it.
  • On the handheld or laptop, you can press the number key that corresponds to the option number of the desired menu option. This provides a keyboard equivalent to highlighting the option with the stylus, mouse pointer, or arrow keys and then pressing Enter.

In menus that contain ten or more menu items, the first nine items are preceded by a zero. In this case, you must press 01 for the first item, 02 for the second item, and so on.
