Read Endpoint

Use Read Endpoint to retrieve and view meter reading and tamper values from a specified endpoint. This command is supported by all endpoint types that employ basic security. You must have Read Endpoints permission to perform this function.

The following diagram summarizes the procedure for reading most endpoint types.

The following diagram summarizes the procedure for reading the 60WP and 80W-i.

An IMR is required for 60WP, 80W-i, and 100 series ERT modules.

When you perform a Read Endpoint on an 2.4GZ OpenWay Gas Module or a 2.4ZR OpenWay Range Extender, the system prompts you to use a magnet to activate the module’s programming mode (see 2.4GZ OpenWay Gas Module Programming Mode Activation), as shown in the following diagram.

When you use the Read Endpoint command with a 2.4ZR, it returns meter data it receives from the 2.4GZ module.
