Read Tampers

Use Read Tampers to retrieve and view a 100G DLS gas ERT module’s meter reading and tamper values. The tamper information retrieved with this option is more complete than the information returned by the Read Endpoint and Check Endpoint options.

You must have Read Tampers permission to perform this function.

The following illustration summarizes the procedure:

An Itron Mobile Radio is required for 100G and 100W/100WP endpoints.

If the meter is fully secured (see Working with Enhanced Security Capable Endpoints), you must retrieve the necessary secure commands before you can execute this function (see Retrieving Secure Commands from the FDM Server).

If enhanced security is enabled on the module, your FDM security manager may have sent a key exchange command for the module along with the secure commands you retrieved from the server. If so, the mobile application executes the key exchange command before executing any of the secure commands. If you receive an error message indicating a security key mismatch, synchronize your mobile device with the server and then perform a Get Commands command. If you still receive the message after performing these steps, contact an Itron customer support representative.

Whether OpenWay Riva 500S devices support Read Tampers depends upon the communication protocol in which the device is operating. If the devices are operating in Mobile communication protocol, then the OpenWay Riva 500S devices will support Read Tamper as if they were 100S devices. If the devices are operating in OpenWay Riva Network communication protocol, then the devices display tamper information as logbook entries.

For more information, see Endpoint Tamper/Event Code Descriptions.
