Virtual SDK

Itron's distributed intelligence virtual SDK is a software developer's kit managed on Amazon Web Services (AWS) console using Cloud9, a cloud-based integrated development environment (IDE). Cloud9 includes a terminal with full sudo privileges to Itron's managed Amazon EC2 instance. To get your Cloud9 environment up and run an agent on a simulated Itron meter, complete all tasks in this section in the following order:

• Create an Amazon Web Services (AWS) account

• Set up the AWS Cloud9 environment

• Resize the Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) volume of your Cloud9 environment

• Request and download SDK files

• Run an agent locally on Cloud9 and clone the ThirdPartyReferenceAgent

• Install emu-tool and create a simulated meter

• Run your agent in the emu-tool

• Start your meter, start and stop your agent, attach into the meter container, and view your meter logs

• FastSim mode
