DI

Distributed Intelligence.

Electronic Serial Number (ESN)

A unique identifier for a meter that includes a vendor component to ensure uniqueness across vendors.

Head End System (HES)

A head-end system is hardware and software component of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) that communicates with meters and performs operations such as retrieving readings data, downloading firmware and performing disconnects.

Itron Cloud Services Platform (ICSP)

Platform and collection of cloud services that provide the functionality for Itron products.

Itron Hybrid Connector (IHC)

A set of services, both on-premises and in the cloud, that facilitate communications between on-premises systems and cloud microservices that are part of the ICSP.

Micro Service

An architectural style that structures an application as a collection of loosely coupled services.

Notification

Activity of delivering message to message bus.

OAuth

Open Authorization is an open standard for token-based authentication and authorization on the Internet.

On Premise Hybrid Service (OHS)

A Windows application that runs alongside of OWOC to facilitate to push messages collected by OWOC into subscribers.

OpenWay Operations Center Communication Manager (OWOC-CM)

A Head-End System product from Itron.

Publication

Synonym for message delivered to message bus.
