Getting started with DINA

DINA is an installed component that works in conjunction with the Central Authentication and Authorization Service (CAAS). CAAS is software component that supports single sign-on and authentication for supported Itron applications, such as Advanced Metering Manager (AMM) and DINA. DINA users must initially log on via the CAAS UI.

Important! Each DINA user must have a DINA Administrator role or a DINA Reporting role (read-only access) assigned within the CAAS user interface (UI). For details, refer to the Central Authentication and Authorization Service (CAAS) Administration Guide.

CAAS authenticates logon credentials against user role information stored in the CAAS local database. If the credentials match a user name with access, CAAS reviews the user privileges for specific application pages, and then forwards that information to the DINA application. The DINA application then enforces user privileges for access to particular web pages and other UI objects.
