AppServ 1.13.x release notes
AppServ 1.13.x releases are for Gen5 Riva Meter firmware release 3.1.1.
This release occurred on March 3, 2026.
Compatibility
This release is compatible with the Gen5 Riva Meter's firmware 10.8.551 to 10.8.999 (release 3.1.1).
New features and enhancements
3459404: DI Endpoint Report File (DERF)
DI Endpoint Report File (DERF) is an extensible, concise, CBOR-formatted, and schema-validated report from endpoints. It is created by AppServ and retrieved by EAC through the regular DataV interrogation process. DERF contains supplemental information to the existing AgentDirector context information. This first release contains hardware pop-option information and agent image storage information. This information allows EAC to conduct agent applications’ compatibility checks against V8 blurt availability and manage DI installations based on the size of the agent image storage.
Resolved issues
3731022: Agents intermittently entered fault state because D-Bus could fail when multiple agents started up simultaneously
Resolution: Fixed. D-Bus now handles agent start-up better.
3794823: NetMgr agent-facing APIs had intermittent issues
Resolution: Fixed. NetMgr agent-facing APIs now correctly pass responses to agents.
Known issues
AppServ has no known issues at this time.
This release occurred on November 12, 2025.
Compatibility
This release is compatible with the Gen5 Riva Meter's firmware 10.8.551 to 10.8.999 (release 3.1.1).
New features and enhancements
3653714: Generic Meter Interface (GMI) support for brownfield deployments
DI can now communicate with more legacy devices in a brownfield deployment.
Resolved issues
3402668: DI was not correctly communicating during brownfield deployments
Resolution: Fixed. DI now correctly communicates during brownfield deployments.
3653055: On polyphase meters, some agents could trigger a memory leak
Resolution: Fixed. Agents can no longer trigger this memory leak.
3608122: Agents had poor performance and packet loss because of internal communication inefficiencies
Resolution: Fixed. The agents (including Consumer Energy Stream (CES)) now have improved inter-communication performance.
Known issues
AppServ has no known issues at this time.
This release occurred on June 30, 2025.
Compatibility
This release is compatible with the Gen5 Riva Meter's firmware 10.8.551 to 10.8.999 (release 3.1.1).
New features and enhancements
3545930: Brownfield RF peer-to-peer communication support
AppServ now supports peer-to-peer communication over the 900 MHz RF band between DI-capable mesh devices (such as the Gen5 Riva Electricity Meter) and legacy GenX devices (such as the Aclara or L+G Gen5 meters). This capability enables active transformer load and voltage monitoring across networks that combine legacy GenX devices with DI-capable mesh meters.
3537011: High-speed metrology enhancements
AppServ now better supports transferring metrology data at high-speed (32k samples per second) between the data server and the agents.
3409403: Meter time zone support
AppServ now supports passing meter time zone information to DI agents, allowing agents to time stamp DI events and alarms with local time before forwarding them to back-office applications.
Resolved issues
3569247: Home Area Network (HAN) data was incorrectly stopping because of missing message responses
Resolution: Fixed. The 2030.5 data server has been updated to not expect metrology data message responses from agents.
Known issues
2856291: When only one agent is installed in either the Itron or third-party container and that agent is removed, an unknown event (1245186) is observed in FDM Tools
Workaround: None at this time. The occurrence of this event causes no adverse effects.
This release occurred on April 21, 2025.
Compatibility
This release is compatible with the Gen5 Riva Meter's firmware 10.8.551 to 10.8.999 (release 3.1.1).
New features and enhancements
3087102: Consolidated SDK API support
AppServ now supports the DI SDK's consolidated API. This gives DI application developers access to all features in a single SDK API.
3341804: Per-country cloud server configuration support
AppServ now supports per-country cloud server configuration. This enables improved localization, compliance with regional regulations, and optimized performance based on geographical needs.
Resolved issues
3341812: Database write times were taking too long.
Resolution: Now, database write performance has been improved by introducing a queue.
3459898: Agents experiencing timeouts because of missing DBus message replies.
Resolution: Now, there are no agent timeouts because the error handling correctly sends responses to all errors.
Known issues
2856291: When only one agent is installed in either the Itron or Third-Party container and that agent is removed, an unknown event (1245186) is observed in FDM Tools
Workaround: None at this time. The occurrence of this event causes no adverse effects.
