GroupId
For information about the use of special characters, see Special characters.
The unique identifier of a service point group. The internal MDI file and database identifier of the specific group the service point is being assigned to. This is how the systems know which group to complete the action on.
If you want to have the MDI file automatically place service points in a group, assign a value to the GroupId, GroupName, or GroupType attributes. When creating the MDI file using XML, you can have as many groups as you want for a single service point. For example service point 123456 can be in route group 01-0125 which might represent cycle 01, route 0125. It could also belong to a group called Domestic and a group called EK-48 which might represent a specific area of the reading territory.
There are no limits to values for GroupType or GroupName other than length. Most utilities use Cycle/Route or Book/Route to place the service point into a group.
The purpose of grouping is to allow the user to see a smaller subset of data for service points with common type attributes (Cycle/Route). This is useful when running reports or investigating read performance issues.
